Stor Rescue is a local-first file scan, cleanup, and recovery app from ISHTAR TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. Our principles are data minimization, permission minimization, and on-device processing first.

1. Data We Process

When you actively use related features, the app only processes data required for your requested action, such as:

• Basic file metadata: file name, path, size, modified time, and file type.
• Media metadata: format, duration, and thumbnail-related information.
• Recovery-related local data: local snapshots, recovery records, and local indexes stored on your device.

This data is used only to provide app functionality and not for user profiling.

2. Storage Permissions and MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

We prioritize standard Android media permissions whenever possible (for example, Photos/Videos access). MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE may be requested only when you explicitly use advanced features like full-device scanning, cross-folder recovery, or deep cleanup.

• To scan directories outside the gallery (for example Downloads, Documents, and some OEM recycle/trash paths).
• To perform user-initiated recovery, delete, and cleanup actions on the target file paths you selected.
• To reduce missed results on devices where some directories are otherwise restricted.

If you do not grant this permission, core features may still work, but full-path scanning or some recovery scenarios may be limited.

3. No File Upload to Developer Cloud

This version of the app does not provide file cloud backup or file hosting. Your photos, videos, and other file contents are not uploaded to developer servers.

• Scanning, preview, recovery, and cleanup are performed locally on your device.
• Recovered photos/videos are written back to your local media library or local storage.
• We do not use app APIs to transfer your original file contents to developer cloud endpoints.

4. Local Storage and Retention

To improve performance and recovery success, the app stores limited local cache and records (for example thumbnail cache, scan indexes, and recovery snapshots). These remain on your device and can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

5. Your Controls

• You can grant or revoke permissions at any time in system settings.
• If permissions are denied, some scan/recovery/cleanup functions may be unavailable.
• You can remove local app data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

6. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party SDKs that may collect or process certain data:

• Google Firebase (including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics): Used for app analytics and crash reporting. Firebase may collect device identifiers (such as Android ID and Advertising ID), crash logs, diagnostics, and approximate location information. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
• Google AdMob: Used to display targeted advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including Advertising ID and IP address), app interaction data, and approximate location information for ad targeting and fraud prevention. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Adjust: Used for install attribution and analytics. Adjust may collect device identifiers, diagnostic data, and approximate location information to attribute installs and prevent fraud. See Adjust Privacy Policy.
• PostHog: Used for product analytics and user behavior tracking. PostHog may collect app interaction data (such as screen views and event clicks) and device identifiers. See PostHog Privacy Policy.
• TopOn: Used as an ad mediation platform to manage and deliver advertisements from multiple ad networks. TopOn may collect device identifiers, app interaction data, and diagnostic information. See TopOn Privacy Policy.

We may update this policy when features, legal requirements, or compliance obligations change. The latest version will be displayed in the app and on this page.
